Prior to this Sunday’s All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final at Croke Park, the victorious Tipperary Senior Hurling team of 2001 will be honoured as part of the Jubilee celebrations! 🏆✨
A quarter of a century ago, on September 9th, 2001, the Premier County defeated Galway on a scoreline of 2-18 to 2-15 to bring the Liam MacCarthy Cup back home.
We are incredibly proud and honoured to have been represented on that historic day by two of our very own Blues legends:
Lar Corbett - who put on a fantastic display, chipping in with 2 crucial points in the final.
Eddie Enright - who played a pivotal role in midfield and put in a massive shift. Eddie capped off an incredible year by winning a well-deserved All-Star award and the first All Star to come back to the Sarsfields Centre.
Both played huge parts in bringing Liam MacCarthy back to Tipperary, and we couldn't be prouder of their incredible contributions to Tipperary's success that year.
We wish Lar, Eddie, and all of their 2001 teammates led by captain Tommy Dunne a great weekend of celebrations and memories up in Croke Park!
